The Parliamentary Secretary

Chris Agius was born in Cospicua on November 17, 1961. His academic education started at Cospicua Primary School and continued at De La Salle College.

The Hon. Agius began his political career from a very young age. He served as secretary of his locality's section of the Youth Socialist Group, (Gh.Z.S.) and then as secretary general of the central committee of the same Gh.Z.S.

He was also secretary for over 10 years of the Labour Party Section of his locality, after which he contested his first General Election way back in 1996. 

The Hon. Agius has been serving as a Member of Parliament since 1996, having been elected in all the 6 elections he contested todate.

He served as Member of Parliament, Parliamentary Secretary for Research, Innovation, Youth and Sports, Parliamentary Secretary for Planning and the Property Market and today he is the Parliamentary Secretary Responsible for Lands and Construction.

Besides his political career,  the Hon. Agius also served for 15 years as President of St George’s FC, the Pioneers of  Maltese football. He helped the team win several promotions, amongst which to the Premier Division of Maltese football.

In 2019, the Hon. Agius was elected to serve as President of St George Band Club of Cospicua.
